Notes
Sharp rock present, River Name: Afon Ogwen. This canyon is grade 4 due to the ghosting techniques required for a descent. all other aspects of this canyon warrant a lower grade.
Description
Approach by Car: Park at the Ogwen Car Park, both free and paid spaces available depending when you arrive.
Approach by foot: From the car park, walk to the main road and turn left, cross the bridge over the river and take the footpath on the right, head straight down to the river below the bridge, This is the canyon entry.
Canyon descent: The descent starts off as a series of down climbs, the severity will change depending on flow so check the water level indicator prior to a descent. You will approach A1 which is 10m in the flow, at the time of writing this (07/22) a monolithic anchor is in the perfect position for this drop. you will then reach A2 which is a 30m drop, webbing can be found out of flow on TR however bring your own incase it needs replacing. After 5 mins of DC you will reach the final drop of 30m, this is a trick abseil, 3 drops into waist deep pools. Natural anchors are available TR. Once descended look for escape on the TL. Escapes: Escape is possible throughout the descent. Best escaping TL when possible.

Descended on the 23rd July 22. A quick descent down, the river was average flow and easy to manage. A2 webbing could do with replacing, all other drops where ghosted. would be a great place to practice some Sawanobori!
