Decent Team of 5 06/09/25, low flow to no flow.
Started at the top dam and a scrappy and slippery gorgewalk to start, one or two interesting large features in the top 300m with no bolts and questionable tat (worth taking stuff to leave behind) then a large ab or jump before the bridge ove at which point bolts appear to aid the decent further. Lots of fun and worth exploring more.
The handline to the last major abseil is scrappy, in the low flows that we had it was a nicer route to take the handling following the course of the water but in higher flows handline to river left and swing onto the abseil bolts. the ledge is decent but can probably only hold 3 people comportably, worth lowering onto it if you have the people to support that.
Two more scrappy abseils then thats it. One has a very bent peg in it and the other is a natural belay.
After that its walking for mabye 10 mins then theris a pretty major lanslip that has brought down lots of trees into the gorge exit river right all the wayt to the end.
Descended team of 3 on 10.7.24. Very low flow, couple of shallow-angle downclimbs near the top are protectable with trees/rock spikes. The jump in the video was deep, the big abseil all bolts in good condition.
One short abseil near bottom has a rusty knifeblade peg and maillon, but you can throw a rope round a tree 2m above it for an anchor.
Parking, there’s a lay-by for 1-2 cars on the right before you get as far as the campsite.
Easy walk in on the TR, took us about an hour to get to the canyon start. Low water canyon with a few cool jumps and abseils. Would be considerably harder in higher flows as there are a number of tight sections. The big pitch has a handline bolt to the main bolted anchors that were all in good order.
