Canyon Experience :

Did this over the summer with a buddy. Do not underestimate this. Spent about 3 hours getting to the top, going via the summit of Scafell Pike.
You can see an uncut video of our progress down here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GF8EIsbOIyg
I’ve put timecodes in the description so you can skip straight to the bits where we started abseiling – FOURTEEN of them. If you’re going, take a LOT of tat. When we were in there, the tat from previous descents was mostly in good condition, but if it’s not, you’re going to need a LOT of cord to rig anchors.
It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done and I’m NOT doing it a third time. It would be really good if you could bail out after about 50-60%… but you can’t. Once you’re in, you’re going all the way down. The video starts when we first get the 50m rope out, and finishes when we make the call to pack it away. That’s four and a half hours. You don’t need to watch the whole video to realise that’s quite a commitment, and we didn’t stop for a breather at any point.
It’s a great day out, but make sure you’ve the gear and the skills and someone making sure you’ve made it back something like on time.
