Description
Approach by Car: - Best parking at the end of the dam access road rather than on the main highway. Approach by foot: - very steep approach straight up the fence line. Best to stay in the forested area as it's less bush bashing on the way up through the trees. Canyon entry: - Enter the canyon just above the conjunction of streams just above the visible waterfalls. Canyon descent: - Steep canyon which is mostly low flow and shallow pools. Very scenic and beautiful. Exit: - at the dam and walk back on the access road Escapes: - No escapes after A1

Canyon Experience :

Date – 8th August 2026
Team Size 3

Main pitch is really cool. We had decent flows the entire time.

Removed and replaced one of the mossy tat after the 60m with some blue tat. Other mossy tat later was left in place however, but we ghosted instead of using it and should’ve removed it.

For the main pitch A4 we used the handline bolt for redundancy as it’s only single bolted. So could do with a bolt or three through the canyon.

We found the topo good. But after A4 (60m) it seemed like the canyon has changed a bit in the bottom half. A5 was more like ~10m, rather than 25m. Also still lots of down climbing in the second half.

IN 1.5hr
DOWN 5.5hr
OUT 15m
